Chander Nijhon
Vice President, Systems, Strategy and Global Operations
Chander Nijhon is Vice President of Systems, Strategy and Global Operations for Raytheon, a business of RTX that specializes in integrated air and missile defense, advanced sensors, space-based systems, hypersonics, effectors and cyber solutions. In this role, Nijhon oversees Raytheon’s international business portfolio in Australia, Canada, the Middle East and the United Kingdom. In addition, he manages a team that is responsible for business strategy, strategic planning, portfolio management, acquisitions and investments for the entire Raytheon portfolio.
Nijhon has more than 25 years of experience in strategic planning, mergers and acquisitions, complex project management, and engineering. Prior to joining Raytheon Missiles & Defense as part of the 2020 merger of Raytheon Company and United Technologies, he led the Group Strategy & Development function at Pratt & Whitney.
Before joining Pratt & Whitney, Nijhon served as a vice president in United Technologies’ Corporate Strategy & Development team, where he managed the successful acquisition of Rockwell Collins and led the separation and the spinoff of Carrier and Otis into stand-alone public companies.
Prior to joining United Technologies, Nijhon held a similar position at Johnson Controls and managed portfolio transformation and spinoff of the company’s automotive seating business. He started his career as an automotive engineer.
Nijhon holds bachelor’s degrees in computer engineering and mathematics, as well as a master’s degree in computer science and engineering, from Oakland University in Michigan. He also earned an MBA from Yale University’s School of Management, where he was selected to be student speaker for his graduating class.
